The Studio d'Arte del Lauro inaugurates the exhibition season with Mariangela Zabatino's personal exhibition "Essere un fiore" curated by Cristina Sissa.
"Being a flower is a profound responsibility": this is Emily Dickinson's conclusion from which Mariangela Zabatino's artistic project begins. Biology is inextricably mixed with the meteorology of the human heart and the portrait flourishes in thoughts of love.
The human figure is summarized in a few nodal lines and the light, in its clots, is an accomplice of the sweet carnal pink as well as the immanent blue of the skies, poised between the hard black of human existence and the emancipated colors of the dream.
From the large black and white canvassed paper, in the pervasive and germinating installation by Cristina Sissa and Egidio Magurno, papers of all sizes branch out - from the largest 70x100 to 12x18. The blooms of the bodies reveal memories of an aquatic, primordial and tentacled world.
The tour concludes with bas-reliefs and bucchero-fired ceramics, as the Etruscans did. Here too it is the matter itself that tells the story, as in Nanni Valentini's "archaeology without memory". Works of gaze and memory, therefore, but also of prediction.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalog with a critical text by Alberto Pellegatta.
Inauguration Thursday 19 October at 6.00 pm. Then it will remain open from Tuesday to Thursday 10.00-14.00 / 16.00-19.30 until 22 December. For visits on different days and times, call +39 340 82 68 664.
